Forest Stay and Play

What does my child need to wear?  

In cold and wet weather we recommend 

  • Waterproof trousers 
  • Waterproof coat 
  • Warm socks 
  • Long sleeve top 
  • Trousers 
  • Fleece/Jumper 
  • Welly Boots 
  • Hat and gloves 

In warmer weather we recommend  

  • Sun hat 
  • Long sleeved top 
  • Trousers 
  • Welly boots 

How do I know where to go? 

Our forest stay and play will be held in Astley park. A sail flag will be displayed at our meeting point by the picnic benches on the central path through the park. Look out for our flag and a member of staff will meet you there to show you over to the forest school site. Alternatively if you would like to make your own way to the forest school site and you are familiar with Astley park then we are just a little further up from point of interest 7 on the map below. 

What age is forest stay and play suitable for? 

Forest stay and play is suitable for all ages and a area will be set up for any children that are not yet mobile.  

Do I need to book? 

There is no need to book, we just ask that you sign in and pay on the day. 

Do I need to bring anything for my child? 

We will have a potty out that can be used and we will also bring a changing mat, however a change of clothes can be needed especially if the weather is particularly wet.  

Do I need to bring a snack? 

A snack will be provided for all attending child, vegan and vegetarian options will also be provided. We will also be providing milk, milk alternatives and water for drinks.  

What is the weather is bad? 

Forest stay and play will go ahead in sun, snow and rain. The only time the session would be cancelled is if there is a thunderstorm due or there are high winds. We will post any cancellations on our social media pages and send texts to all that leave their number.
